Ms. Weinstein was awarded a Juris Doctor in 1991 from Hofstra University School of Law and received a B.A. from Rutgers University, Douglass College in 1988. She served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Jonathan N. Harris, Judge of the Superior Court in Bergen County upon receiving her law degree.
Ms Weinstein’s areas of practice include Family and Matrimonial law, including divorce, child support, alimony, custody, post divorce judgment matters, domestic violence, domestic partnerships and premarital agreements; Real Estate Law, purchase, sale and refinance. And other areas of Civil Litigation.
Ms. Weinstein is admitted to the New Jersey Bar, New York Bar and the Southern District Court of New York. She is presently a member of the New Jersey Bar Association, the Bergen County Bar Association - Family Law Committee; and Fee Arbitration Committee. She is also a Barrister for the New Jersey Family Law Inns of Court. She previously was a Early Settlement panelist for the Family Part, and a panel member for a matrimonial seminar conducted by the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education. She is a volunteer at the Women’s Rights Information Center in Englewood, New Jersey.
Ms. Weinstein appears regularly as a guest commentator on COURTTV, n/k/a TruTV, and Sirius Satellite Radio. She has also appeared as a guest commentator for Fox & Friends. and for GMTV in the United Kingdom. In addition to her television appearances, Janell is a writer and contributing legal expert for FirstWivesWorld.com, a website that focuses exclusively on family and divorce issues.
Ms. Weinstein served as the Editor of the Hofstra Law Entertainment Law Journal from 1990-1991. She was also as an Intern for the Northeast Midwest Congressional Coalition, Washington D.C. in 1986.
